Weber, a cop near the end of his career comes across Katie, a witness to a brutal murder of the man she considered her father. At first meeting the sparks between them fly and though they both try to deny their feelings they find themselves growing attached to each other. But can Weber save Katie when the murder locates her or will he lose her forever. I loved this quick read addition to the series and was already in love with Weber from earlier books. The author does a wonderful job at making her characters believable but putting them into believable situations as well. This book can be read alone but to fully understand the characters and their relationships it is best to start with book one. However you chose to go you won’t be disappointed.
